Mayhem Beta tournament Recap

Mayhem Beta tournament Recap

The Mayhem Beta just came to an end with quite a bang this past Sunday. We hosted our first official Mayhem tournament on Twitch and saw some amazing skills from the teams that participated. In total, we had 11 teams compete in a round-robin style tournament, where all teams faced each other once and the two teams with the best record competed in a best of three round for the title.

Our two finalists were both F3 teams and the battles were epic to say the least. F3 Sanctuary consisted of [F3]Daddy (aka WillyWhale), [F3] E0Rocks, and [F3] Chav. F3 Legion consisted of  [F3] BTS17x, [F3] LV17, and [F3] CST17x. Both teams had two Grand Masters each, making the battlefield even in terms of skill and experience with the game. This promised to be an exciting showdown – and both team delivered in a big way. The first match ended 70 -100 for F3 Sanctuary and the second match 95-100 for F3 Sanctuary, with 2 out of 3 matches won – Team F3 Sanctuary took the championship.

Both matches were not a walk in the park for F3 Sanctuary. In the first match, F3 Legion started out strong in the center of the map and was able to use Scorch, Octane and Kira in a powerful combo to make it close to impossible for F3 Sanctuary to catch their breath or the platform. F3 Sanctuary was able to catch up and turn the match in their favor with their skillful use of Scorch’s short range attacks and healing ability along with Kira’s long distance arrows.

In the second match F3 Sanctuary started out strong and was more than 20 points ahead, when F3 Legion turned up the heat and put their opponent in a tight spot by tying the match at 95-95. This match could have gone either way, but F3 Sanctuary strategically targeted one merc of the opposing team and won their final 5 points to secure a glorious victory.

Everyone from Team Mayhem wants to congratulate F3 Sanctuary for their impressive win and to F3 Legion for playing so well throughout the tournament. 3rd place went to Team Wonderboyz Emerald. We want to also thank all the other teams for participating. We saw some amazing matches by Team Fused, Pixienubs, Wicked, Wonderboyz Crimson, The Goonies and Colossus Factory. The feedback that these teams and other beta participants provided has been invaluable in driving our feature roadmap for Mayhem.
